20 Apr Sunfish Rigging Q&A Posted at 22:21h in Blog by Paul-Jon Patin 0 Comments 0 Likes Share Outhaul set up The purchase of the outhaul is 3:1 at the end cap and the last 12″ before the cleat. My ideal lead of the line exits the end cap on the port side, travels under the boom to avoid bending the boom and leads to the cleat on the starboard side. Some sailors prefer to run the outhaul from the end cap directly to the cleat. The line forward of the cleat runs thru the sail ties, below the gooseneck, around the port side of the mast and thru the fairlead to tie the end to the centerboard.
