31 Aug Space/…/? The final frontier?
Well the “Space” I’m talking about isn’t about Capt. Kirk’s log. It is the mental space that taking a vacation achieves or the pause in one’s day (i.e. noticing your breathing) that lends a performer, “a peak execution.” It is AMAZING how effective, creative and forward thinking one can become with this practice. I’ll mention that SAILING can do this as well serving as a sort of a therapy, but you have to “let it” happen. So many I teach hold themselves back. A clear distinction I like to make is the difference between “making a boat ‘go about’…” and letting the boat go about with the natural forces of the tension in the sheets, the force on the centerboard and rudder as affected by the flow on the sails. Making “space” is a peak performance tool or strategy I highly recommend!
